1920's American Metal Ware Co. (est. 1883) Chicago, IL Hotel & Restaurant Hot Water Urn Model Name "American"

American Metal Ware Co. was an immigrant-led business, formed in a rebuilding the city Chicago of the 1880's.
As of 2023, the American Metal Ware Company actually still exist. Grindmaster-Cecilware has owned AMW since 1995. Swedish multinational appliance manufacturer Electrolux then acquired U.S.-based beverage systems and commercial coffee grinding and brewing manufacturer Grindmaster-Cecilware for $108 million USD in cash considerations. This is a rare piece of early 19th century water heating and in great shape for age....was used as decor and display. Company founder Adolph O. Hartmann—a German-born copper-smith and iron cornice manufacturer, started his appliance business on Huron Street in Chicago’s River North neighborhood in 1893. There created some of the most amazing small appliances inventions, and in the 1920's this hot water urn was definitely an "eye catcher" as well as modern ingenuity in it's time.
During this time people were still using coal for heating water as well as bed side tea kettles. Electrical appliances were not used in hotels until 1910 and electricity wasn't widely prevalent in hotels until 1925.
This would have been a major expensive luxury but an amazing feature to lure guests to choose your accommodations.
