1974 Indiana "Goldentone" Carnival Glass Candy Dish

    The Indiana Glass Company was formally created in 1907, after purchasing the bankrupt National Glass Co.
    When East Central Indiana experienced the Indiana gas boom. The company started in 1907, when a group of investors led by Frank W. Merry formed a company to buy the Dunkirk glass plant that belonged to the bankrupt National Glass Company. National Glass was a trust for glass tableware that originally owned 19 glass factories including the plant in Dunkirk. National Glass went bankrupt in 1907, and its assets were sold in late 1908.
    From 1974-1976 Goldentone Iridescent patterns was made by Indiana Glass Company, (Dunkirk, Indiana) as part of their Contemporary Carnival Revival Production models. This model is #606 and has a molded ornate design called "Loganberry" or "Strawberry Relish". Weighs 1 lb and measures 7.5" X 7.5" X 2".

    Indiana produced a wide range of Carnival shapes and patterns which, although no trademark is present, can usually be distinguished by the company's distinctive colors and iridescent
    They also made various handled baskets and bonbon dishes, such as the Lily Pons (aka Sunflower) and the Loganberry (aka Strawberry Relish). ​Indiana originally made these dishes circa 1920's-1930's in green and pink (non-iridised) glass. This model was the #606 Bon-Bon Dish and has a molded ornate design called "Loganberry" or "Strawberry Relish". Weighs 1 lb and measures 7.5" X 7.5" X 2". bon bon (candy in French). The molds were re-used in the 1970's for Indiana's Contemporary Carnival production.
