Rosso Levanto is a rare and precious marble that is highly sought after by interior designers and elegance lovers around the world. It is a popular choice for creating dramatic and eye-catching interiors.
The marble is named after the municipality of Levanto, where it is mainly quarried. It is also extracted in the neighboring municipalities of La Spezia, including Framura, Bonassola, Montaretto, and Deiva Marina.
Rosso Levanto marble is known for its deep, wine-red color, which is reminiscent of the region's characteristic wines. It has white calcite and quartz veins that create an intriguing contrast and makes each slab and veining unique.
A "fleck in marble" means that there are very small patches of color in the marble. Natural Rosso Levanto that has flecks of green most likely means that it was quarried near Cinque Terre . Green flecks also only usually happens as the result of serpentine which is a mineral that forms when magnesium-rich limestone or dolomite with silica impurities, are subject to intense heat and pressure during the stone slabs metamorphism underground.
