Porcelain Duck and Goose Figurines by Andrea of Sadek-1983

Two Japanese porcelain statuettes made in 1983 for the Andrea collection of import home decor company Andrea by Sadek.
Sadeks artisan imports of bisque porcelain have become highly collectible over the years.
These two statues are of water fowl. Birds where one of Andreas favorite items for decoration. One is a mallard duck and one is a Canadian goose. Hand-painted and both in great condition. Both are included with the purchase. The detail and colors are truly well crafted!

The Goose:
Weighs 7.8 ounces
Measures 6.75” X 3” X 3.5”

The Duck:
Weighs 6.5 ounces
Measures 4.75” X 3” X 5.5”

Japanese porcelain artisans has always been a major contributor of the Charles Sadek Import Company in New Rochelle, New York.
The Charles Sadek Import Co. (J.Willifred) was founded by Charles and Norman Sadek in 1936.
The Sadeks worked with foreign factories in all parts of the world to import hand-crafted bisque porcelain figurines, S & P shakers, dinnerware, tea and coffee sets and home decorations. The Sadek's inventory grew to a 3,000-item catalog of unique designs of home accessories. Charles and Norman had showrooms in Atlanta, Dallas, Las Vegas, New York as well as their headquarters in New Rochelle, NY.
Charles had a son Jim, and a daughter named Andrea that would run the family business along with Norman Sadek. In 1975, Charles passed away, so Norman renamed the company to Andrea by Sadek making Charles's daughter the namesake and Jim and his wife Sandra the operational successors.
In 2010, Norman passed away leaving Jim to sell Andrea by Sadek in 2015 to Fitz & Floyd of Dallas. Interesting enough, the Sadek's left the brands separate, and the Sadeks are well involved still with their brand of imports.
