WACKY, WILD, WELL MADE AND ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL!!!!
Was made in the 1990's (found product line that still had production tags-was not easy :) in China and actually was part of the very beginning of America's Outsourcing Manufacturing "go to strategy" to help offer market advantages such as cost savings and access to specialized expertise. Well, we know how that ended up!
Amazing Asian influence in the design with the ever loving Palm Tree. In Asia, where palm trees are non-native, the trees' flowers have traditionally been pollinated by hand, which has kept palm fruit productivity unnaturally low.
In Southeast Asian countries, people like to plant some Palmyra palm trees before or behind their houses or plant a piece of Palmyra palm trees as the source of their sugar. Each Palmyra palm tree can produce over 10 or dozens of large anthotaxies that have sugar contents.
    TEAPOT DESIGN AS FOLLOWS:
Hand-painted black body with all 3 types of palm leaves represented in green...pinnate, palmate, and the costapalmate. The finial, cover shoulders, handle, spout, foot and body lattice are molded in the design of the palm wood's natural "clumpy and running" appearance (people have been known to mistake bamboo and natural palm wood on this item)..ha ha.
The lid is fashioned with a dropping locking guide hinge and the entire teapot has been glossed both featuring top tier Asian quality craftsmanship.
Palms and bamboos are related, as they are monocots, and are both in the commelinids clade. But the leaves on this item is the actual tell.....bamboo is a plant....palm is a tree with the leaf structures being displayed on this teapot:)

Measures 11.5" Handle To Spout 7" Max Width 7.5" Tall
