  • Details
Made from 1971 to 1981 by custom lamp manufacturer E.F. & E.F. Industries, Inc. in Chicago, Illinois.

EF & EF Industries Inc. was a Chicago-based decorative lamp company that was active primarily during the 1970s. They specialized in custom-made ornate table lamps, often using a combination of glass and cast or soldered metal to create designs in the Hollywood Regency, Neoclassicism, and Gothic Revival styles. The company went out of business in 1981 due to changing home fashion and potential corporate mismanagement.
E.F. & E.F. lamps are known for amazing designs and creations using materials such as amber glass, green glass, milk glass, Lucite and slag glass. Their most popular patterns were hobnail, diamond relief, and off course natural marble slag. The factory used ornate cast metal bases, sometimes with an antique brass or patinated dull silver finish to reproduce the aesthetics of European ironworks.
The company focused on creating high-quality reproduction lighting fixtures that paid homage to earlier historical styles like Art Nouveau, Gothic Revival, and Neoclassicism, rather than contemporary mid-century modern designs that were more popular in “Seventies” American home fashion.

This table lamp was part of the Gothic Revival Collection. They came in dozens of colors and patterns. The slag glass is framed in an ornate lead and pewter alloy cage with windows displaying the glass panels. The lamp shade is a hexagon of 6 thick cut slag glass panels while the base is a quad of 4 thick cut slag glass panels.
Slag glass is widely known for its distinctive marbled or swirled pattern, which resembles natural marble or tortoiseshell. This effect is created by mixing two or more colors of opaque glass (typically a base color swirled with white or cream) during the manufacturing process. The color of slag glass determines the diffuser differences in their line of lamp shades.
These slag glass panels are Leland Blue (not Sorbini Blue).
Condition is good but brass fixtures show some tarnish and spotting.
The electrical components work great and are the original fixtures.
There are a main lamp socket and a separate smaller bulbed base light fixture.
The lamp has the original main lamp bulb but a new replacement base bulb. (both included)
Turn knob is 4-stage option controlling the lamp to either; turn on/off, light top and bottom at once or separate. (see photos).
This lamp is very heavy weighing 6 pounds and 2 ounces.
Total Height 13.75 inches, the shade is 6.25 inches tall and 7.5” wide. The tower base is 5.25 inches tall and 4.5 inches wide. No cracks or chips in glass.
