Grand Brass Lamp Parts was established in 1913, starting in New York City near the Bowery (Grand Street area) as an oil/gas fitting supplier, then expanding to electrical supplies, and now operates primarily from its fulfillment center in West Haven, Connecticut, at 51 Railroad Ave.
Grand Brass Lamp Parts is still in operation today. (NY & CT) .

Colonial Chambersticks were typically used with candles in the pre-electral days.
Chambersticks had a short stem with a cup for the candle.
A wide, saucer-shaped base to catch dripping wax and ashes.
A looped side handle for easy and safe carrying.
Materials were often simple, like tin, brass, or other utilitarian metals in colonial American culture. Back then, if a chamberstick or lantern was being used on a breezy day you could place a glass globe over a fitted band to keep the flame from flickering or snuffing while being open on top to operate as a chimney. This glass ingenuity would later in time be used as inserts for the infamous “Hurricane Lamps”. AMAZING FIND!
