    This item was made in 1960's by a North Texas weld artist. It was made to commemorate the Krum Bobcat High School Basketball Team in Krum, Texas. Originally painted blue and white (KHS Bobcats color) when made but now been painted black and re-listed.
    Welded sculptures have a relatively short history, dating back only to the 20th century. Before the development of current welding technology, sculptures made from metal were either cast or forged, and welding was primarily used in the construction industry.
    Today, welded sculptures are an established form of contemporary art, with artists continuously pushing the boundaries of what’s possible with modern materials and technology.
    Made from various metals and featuring Diamond Forged Horseshoes.
    Diamond was the brainchild of Swedish blacksmith Otto Swanstrom, who arrived in the United States when he was 15 years old and began making horseshoes and horse harness in northern Minnesota.
    Swanstrom formed his company around 1908 and began selling his horseshoes all of America. Diamond also became one of the most notable calk and tool manufacturers in the United States.
