    EXTREMELY RARE!
1925 W.M Evans Dairy Co. Milk Bottle (Brooklyn, NY) made by Empire Bottling Company (1912-1969) in St. Louis, Missouri. (1 Quart) Rare Empire Bottling Co. trademark on back (embosses cursive letter "E").

This bottle is sectional molded glass with a light purple hue. It was made by Empire Bottling Company in St. Louis, Missouri (ca.1925). It was then sold to W.M. Evans Dairy Co. in Brooklyn, New York. From there, Evans bottled a quart of their milk in it and sold it to a grocer. That grocer sold to a person who provided their home and family with milk. Cool huh? Now, about those two companies:

In 1907 Empire Bottling Co. is incorporated with $5000 capitol stock by Louis Schnellman, John T Guis, Joseph Schnellman, Emil Schnellman and Joseph Guis to manufacture and deal in carbonated and mineral waters. They were located at 516 W. Robert St. in St. Louis, Missouri at the time this bottle was made in 1925.
The Evans Dairy was founded in 1878 by the late WM Evans. His son, William C Evans bought the business in 1904 and launched out on his own hook with seven wagons and ten horses.
In 1922, Evans made home to their milk bottle factory at 32-34-36 Lexington Ave in the Brooklyn neighborhood of New York, City. On January 21, 1925, the Dairyman's League Cooperative Association went into ownership with Evans to help strengthen the buying power of their milk farm. Sadly it did not help the dairy farmers much during the depression and the bottle milk business declined.
Ironically, both Empire in St. Louis and W.M. Evans Dairy Co. in Brooklyn were completely out of business and sold their factory properties in the same year.... 1949:)
