    HUTA SILESIA OF RYBNIK INFO:
During its many years of work, Rybnik’s “Silesia” Ironworks manufactured a wide variety of iron products – army equipment, household appliances, decorative elements and enamel dishes, pots and pans. The company illustrates the history of the city and region, entangled in wars and changing nationalities, as well as the history of industry and production technology – it’s a history of innovation, patents and modifications. As always, it is also connected with the history of social changes (WWII-Germany), which can be traced while observing the evolution of “Silesia” – a specific location on the map, that still exemplifies processes typical for the whole region. The ironworks remains an interesting field of research in terms of industrial architecture; it also presents an opportunity to look at its products as works of applied art and industrial design, which is very popular nowadays. In many regions of the world their vintage products are referred to as Huta Silesia which in meaning is Huta (smeltery) and Silesia (region of Poland). The Silesia region is well known geographically as being rich with deposits of iron ore in which contributed to Czech steelworks as well as enamelware manufacturing.
