  • Details
Established in Dallas in 1960 by founders Pat Fitzpatrick and Bob Floyd, Fitz and Floyd started off as an import company but soon progressed to the design and sale of ceramic giftware, tabletop products and accessories. Fitz and Floyd designs are globally manufactured in China, Japan, and even the Philippines for the Omnibus line of products. By the 1970's, the company had over 100 popular hand-painted ceramic gift lines in production. Fitz and Floyd ceramic-wares are known for their intricate, imaginative designs and colorful patterns. Pat and Bob create various patterns from humorous to absolutely elegant in stature. In the 1970's and 1980's, Fitz and Floyd became the first company to create mix-and-match dinnerware with complementary designs or colors in one pattern line. The product lines created by Fitz and Floyd are too numerous to list and most collectors focus on specific themes rather than specific lines. FF has been a renowned brand of Christmas themed and patterned ceramic-wares for decades with most all designs being extremely unique.
Fitz & Floyd products were so popular in Texas, that the city of Dallas commissioned it to make a one-of-a kind tea service as a gift to Queen Elizabeth for her 1991 visit to the USA from England.
This pair of coffee (or tea) mugs are originally part of their Retro style or minimalist movement that became popular with Fitz & Floyd during the 1980s. Both items photographed are included in the sale. Great condition except for some discoloration on the bottom sides of pedestals but NO CRACKS OR CHIPS. Each mug weighs 5.1 ounces and measures 4 inches tall, 2.75” diameter mouth and 2.25” diameter base. Minimum 8-ounce capacity mugs.
